Tools for sharpening in Photoshop

How to improve the quality of a photo in Photoshop with Camera Raw

Camera Raw is a professional color correction tool with a lot of settings to change the image and make it better. To improve the clarity, it will be enough to change the Sharpness/Clarity parameter. If you want, you can also change the parameters Saturation and Vibrance.


Working with curves

Sometimes it is enough to do some simple manipulations to improve the image. For example, with the Brightness/Contrast or Curves tool, you can make your image sharper by increasing its contrast. In many cases, this correction will be enough, and the time required for working with Curves is much less than for more complex tools.


To enhance your photos with the High Pass filter

First, make a copy of the active layer. Then, in the Filters tab, under Other, choose the most recent filter - Color Contrast/High Pass. When working with the filter, your task is to choose the value at which the desired details start to appear. When you're happy with the detail, go to Layer blending modes and choose Overlay/Overlay. Don't forget that the layer with the correction can be adjusted with a mask or transparency.
